Our workshops are dedicated to using our Indigenous knowledge as a framework for learning.

OUR SIGNATURE DIGITAL COURSE as a workshop

Workshop Title: Mno-Biimaadiziwin – Living the Good Life

Format: 3 day and 5 day format days allow for a deeper level to cover each topic, adequate time to learn, discuss concepts, process information, pause and slow down to create a space and get curious about what Mno-Biimaadiziwin means. It also provides space to teach practice of the concepts that are the foundation of this course, so that participants can integrate into everyday life.

Format: 2 day format allows and introduction, education and surface level discussion of the topics discussed and introduction, online sessions available as well

Topics covered: Indigenous history, healing, somatic healing, wellness, culture, identity, inner child trauma, reseting the nervous system, self love, personal development, community, loss/grief, mental health, addictions, vulnerability, shame, vision boards.

Description: A hybrid of healing! This workshop focuses on healing and wellness via personal development program thru an Indigenous lens. We create space to discuss personal change, growth, healing, wellness and transformation using the 7 grandfather teachings of truth, bravery, honesty, love, humility, wisdom, and respect. We reflect, discuss personal development, get introduced to somatic healing. We use our Indigenous knowledge in a contemporary day to day living context to help us live a good life through a wholistic lens of mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Key priorities focus on self-development, self-awareness, mindset, rest, action, solution focus ideas, learning how to live in the moment and reseting our nervous systems. as an individual all while being a part of our communities. The goal is to learn practical examples that will help you navigate your healing, get curious about healing work that needs to be addressed, all while tapping into our creativity and inner strengths so that we can determine what Mno-Biimadiziwin means to you. Workshop Title: How do you Show up in life?

Format: 1 or 2 day, online sessions available as well

Topics covered: personal development, inner child trauma, trauma, mental health

Description: Showing up consistently is key! This workshop is about Personal Development thru an Indigenous lens. Creating a space for Indigenous people to reflect on their own wellbeing, as an individual who is a part of a collective community. As Indigenous people our community is a big part of who we are and identify with. Within that community, we are the individuals who make up that community, live out our lives and contribute to the dynamics that make up our communities . This workshop focusing on how we show up for ourselves on a daily basis, so we can contribute to building healtly and vibrant communities .

Workshop Title: Parenting me, Parenting You

Format: 1 day or 2 day workshops, online sessions available as well

Topics covered: parenting, inner child trauma, culture, responsive parenting, personal development, healing

Description: Responsive and gentle parenting with LOVE! A workshop in Indigenous parenting that looks at healing our own inner child wounds and breaking the cycle, examining intergeneration trauma, and learning how to show up for yourself and your child. We focus on parenting ourselves, so we can parent our children, so our next generation can be raised in healthy and nurturing environment.

Workshop Title: Healing, Wellness, and change, what does it really take?

Format: 1 day or 2 day, online sessions available as well

Topics: Indigenous history, culture, personal change and development, systemic issues, stages of change, mental health, emotional blocks, life patterns,

Description: pushing our comfort zone! This workshop is an Introductory workshop in personal healing, wellness, and transformation. This program is set up in a way to plant the seed for change in your life. Maybe you've been going through a rough time, perhaps you ended a relationship, have gone through a pandemic, are feeling stuck, or just feel like something is missing in you life. Maybe you want to make change in your life, but just not sure how. This mini course is the kickstart-go-at-your-own-pace-at-comfort level to help you get out of your own way to assist you in creating change in your life and help you begin to find your path in life. This course is about providing you the space to begin to explore, reflect, nurture and grow to be the best version of yourself. We will start to dabble in topics that are reflective with the purpose to lead you to further and encourage you to continue on the many journeys in healing, self, insight and self awareness in your life.

Workshop Title: Dream Catching!

Format: 1 day or 2 day, online sessions available as well

Topics: goal setting, emotional blocks, mental health, personal wellbeing, culture

Description: Dream BIG!! This workshop is about making your dreams come true, how to transform your ideas in action in order to make those dreams happen. While this formal focuses on the practical tools, it’s rooted in exploring some of those emotional set backs and blocks that people may struggle with in meeting their own personal goals and dreams. This workshop includes guided imagery, meditation practices, and vision boards to help shape your dreams. Then we learn practical tools about time management, action plans, long term and short term goal setting. All while embracing and connecting with the emotional roots and self worth that will help us dream big and reach our visions.

Topics: Feelings, Emotions, culture, mental health, somatic healing, energy,

Description: Feelings! They come and go, sometimes we don’t know what they are, how they feel, or what to call them. We have courses for many things, but have you ever taken a course on feelings? Most of us know basic emotions of happy, sad, mad. Did you know (depending on who you talk to) there are anywhere from 27 to 87 emotions we feel as human beings? This course focuses on identifying feelings of feeling loved, happy, cheerful, confident, funny, curious, embarrassed, frustrated, sad, nervous, worries, stressed, angry, shame and sick. Where do they come from and how do we express them in a healthy way? We work in giving you the language to express your emotions, help you understand and feel them. All though we talk about feelings, this is an educational workshop not to be in lieu of therapy. But it could be a segue or stepping sone to more indepth treatment, healing, therapy or counselling.

Workshop Title: Supporting the Service Provider

Format: 1 or 2 day, online sessions available as well

Topics: self care, burnout, culture, personal development, mental health, work/life balance

Description: Feeling burnt out? Stressed? This workshop is for the service providers. The ones out there providing service to people, whether you on the frontline or management. As we go about our days, deadlines, projects, we can forget about our own self and how we show up for ourselves in order to show up for others. This is about pressing pause and creating space for you! Topics include work/life balance – is it possible? Creating a healthy work environment? Or even knowing when to get out and move on!

Workshop Title: Leading from the Heart

Format: 1 or 2 day, online sessions available as well

Topics: Indigenous history, Indigenous leadership, heart centred leadership, culture, personal development, community development, personal vs political

Description: This workshop focuses on leading from within. We focus on personal development using our Indigenous knowledge in a modern day to day context in leaderships roles through a wholistic lens of mental, spiritual, emotional and physical. We look at discussing the politics of being in leadership, examine the Personal vs. Political, and reflect on what is leadership? How do you lead? Is leadership about managing communities or an act of service? What is the difference? Do you connect with your constituents or community? What is your relationship within your First Nation? This is about creating the space to pause, get to our person WHY we do what we do, and learn how lead in a heart centred manner. We will also examine and discuss community development.

Workshop Title: Living with Diabetes

Format: 1 day, online sessions available as well

Description: Marie is taking bookings for speaking engagements sharing her knowledge and experience as a person living with type 2 diabetes. Marie touches on how she manages her life living as a diabetic, her journey with managing gestational diabetes, the experience of being on insulin and medication, discuss about mindset, knowing how to fuel your body with good food and even bannock/scone, keeping your sugars down, and of course exercise. This workshop can be in a format as a keynote and motivational speaker at conferences, workshops, seminars, events, etc.

Workshop Title: Inner Child Healing

Format: 1 day or 2 day workshops, online sessions available as well

Topics covered: inner child trauma, culture, parenting, personal development, healing

Description: This workshop is about healing from the inside out, doing the inner work. This course will guide you through meeting crucial childhood developmental needs that may have been missed in your childhood, that are still impacting you in your adulthood. Learn how to connect with and heal your inner child.

Workshop Title: Somatic Healing and Regulating the Nervous System

Format: 1 day or 2 day workshops, online sessions available as well

Topics covered: trauma, somatic healing, nervous system, connecting mind-heart-body-spirit, emotional regulation, healing

Description: This workshop will introduce you to the world of somatic healing and how we connect our mind-heart-body-spirit. It begins to show you how to work thru trauma that has been stored in our bodies for days, months, years and decades. If you’ve felt overwhelmed, chronically stressed, easily triggered, somatic healing can be a method use to help you shift the healing you need to feel! We will learn multiple ways to regulate our nervous shift and move our of survival mode.

Workshop Title: Indigenous Personal Development

Format: 1 day or 2 day workshops, online sessions available as well

Topics covered: exploring personal development thru an Indigenous lens, introduction to personal development, how personal development can change your mindset and life

Description: This workshop will introduce you to the world of personal development thru an Indigenous lens. Personal development thru and Indigenous lens recognizes that we are a part of our community but also individuals that also have needs, goals, dreams, healing and wellness to work on. It's about embracing self awareness, self healing and growth while recognizing and acknowledging the impacts of intergenerational trauma has our on our personal self and community. It's about how we choose to walk in the path of Mno Biimaadizwin "Living the Good Life" everyday

Workshop Title: Grief and Loss

Format: 1 day or 2 day workshops, online sessions available as well

Topics covered: grief and loss, post lost supports, spirituality, culture

Description: This workshop focuses on ways of talking about grief and loss and how we integrate into our everyday life. Loss is natural and unavoidable. It happens. We explore grief and loss of many different phases in life; relationships, people, our old selves, change, careers, expectations, material losses. pets, etc. Goals of this workshop are learning how to sit with the pain, the grief, the change, and embracing it as part of our life. All while honouring what we loss and learning how to move forward.

Workshop Title: Indigenous Mental Health

Format: 1 day or 2 day workshops, online sessions available as well

Topics covered: trauma, destigmatizing mental health, emotional wellbeing, physical health, mental wellbeing, spiritual health, decolonial practices, traditional medicine, western medicine, medication, developing supports in our communities

Description: This workshop focuses on ways to support our mental health as Indigenous people. It creates space to talk about the challenges in mental health we face, as well as acknowledge the added layers of systemic issues. We explore the various ways we can support individual, family and community mental health.

Workshop Title: Women’s Leadership

Format: 1 day or 2 day workshops, online sessions available as well

Topics covered: history of women, leading as women, deconstructing the patriarchy, exploring leadership as women, goals, breaking the glass ceilings, unpacking the emotional load and expectations as women, culture

Description: This workshop is all about embracing the empowerment, strength and diversity of women. Historically, society set limitations on women’s ability to lead. This workshop will break down all the barriers we face as women and how we can overcome the challenge to meet our personal, family and any goals we want for ourselves. We learn how to cultivate and borrow for other women’s strengths while we are still finding ours or sharing our strength for those who are coming behind us.

Workshop Title: So you want to be an ALLY?

Format: 1 day or 2 day workshops, online sessions available as well

Topics covered: Indigenous history, what is an ALLY?, power and privilege, creating diversity, decolonization

Description: From an Indigenous lens, this workshop is geared towards non-native people and how decolonization is important when working with Indigenous communities. This course will trigger your worldview as a non-native person and really questions your belief system of society. It’s about being uncomfortable in the work that comes in the territory and reality when working with Indigenous communities. It’s more than just checking the cultural competency box on your training development plan.

***Note: While our priority is working within the Indigenous communities, we are open to working with non-Indigenous, allies , non-Indigenous organizations for education and learning purposes

Pricing / Costs

Pricing varies depending on workshop, participants, and format. All workshops have a flat rate fee plus per person cost, as well as travel and accommodation expenses covered (if required)

Special online pricing available for workshops online via zoom. Please inquire with group needs for pricing.

Fee includes: educational experience, life experience, knowledge, skills, Indigenous experience and perspective, expertise, value, time, research, preparation, awesomeness, unique perspective, delivery of service, adaptation of workshop (if necessary), workshop materials and handouts, and double deadliness.

FACILIATATION

All Workshop are facilitated by Marie Norton, Indigenous Social Entrepreneur, B.A., Psychology, Bachelor of Social Work, Registered Social Worker, Rez Kid at heart. All my relations are connected to Chimnissing/Beausoleil First Nation, Sheshegwaning First Nation and Lac Seul First Nation.

Elders and Traditional Knowledge Keepers may be utilized in some workshops. We are open (and recommend) to create space and utilize Elder 's specific to your region, First Nation or Territory (as identified by you) to integrate in the workshop. As each First Nation, Territory or organization is unique and needs vary we work with you to set this up prior to the workshop
