A heart centered
indigenous approach
to wellness
creating a safe space to dialogue, nuture our mindset, HELp hEal wounds, grow as individuals as a part of a collective community Thru FEELING OUR EMOTIONS and put words into action. all in an indigenous way of connecting and belonging. so our communities may thrive for this generation and future generations to come. A place to embrace and grow our intergenerational strengths while reflecting ON and healing our intergenerational trauma. This is living the indigenous life.
An Indigenous and heart centred approach to wellness. As an entrepreneur in wellness I have created wellness content and courses that embrace our Indigenous knowledge and incorporate other modalities and concepts that can also be integrated through our life journey. It’s a hybrid of healing!
I had this dream to create a unique digital course, group coaching and workshops that reflects our true history, our life as Indigenous people, and an approach that keeps us connected to our own practices and also recognizes the dynamics of our communities. It also reflects the many challenges we face as Indigenous people so we can deconstruct our life to connect our being in mind, body and spirit.
Courses are Indigenous based but are open to everyone. I focus on helping other people ignite their own fire inside and to live the life they want to live thru go at your own pace digital course, workshop, and life coaching.
Owner/Indigenous Life Coach - Marie Norton (Maanii Anwatin)
The history behind Maanii ANwatin Wellness.
It all began with an idea. A dream. A desire to help me understand myself thru person development. It is now my desire help other people thrive and realize our own inner knowledge and potential thru personal development. The name of my business “Maanii Anwatin Wellness” is to reflect my journey as an Indigenous Woman, our healing as individuals and as a collective community, as well as our experiences with colonization as Indigenous people. “Maanii” is the translation of “Marie” in our Ojibway language. “Anwatin” is my family’s surname on my father’s side. It was changed from the Ojibway word “Anwatin” meaning “Calm Waters” to “Norton” in the English language by the Indian Agent back in the day.
